A Vital Part of Man

By Scott McGee

God made the world,
And put man in it,
And then He gave him life.
He looked and saw,
Just half a person,
And gave to him a wife.

She, his help-meet,
His loyal partner,
To with him always stay.
To stand beside,
And help him onward,
To live with God one day.

To hold him tight,
When he is lonely,
And tell him she is there,
To go to him,
When life denies him,
To say that she does care.

To bear his young,
And help him raise them,
That he might be a man.
To comfort him,
And heal his spirit,
As only women can.

She, his purpose,
To keep on living,
When life is hard to bear.
To be someone,
To share things with him,
And with whom he can share.

That she, with him,
Be a whole person.
That he and she be one.
To bind their lives,
And bind their spirits,
As God'‘s own wife has done.

And thus we see,
God's own true wisdom,
When He did make His plan.
To give each man,
A wife, a woman,
A vital part of man.
