Hi, I'm Scott McGee. I am a computer nerd. I have six children and four grandchildren. I enjoy reading Science Fiction and listening to music (check out my favorite radio station, KBZN 97.9, if you want to see what kind of music).
I have currently work for ebay as a Build Specialist (I configure new computer installations). Previously, I worked as a Unix System Administrator for a Government contractor at Hill Air Force Base, and before that at Delta Technology, (part of Delta Airlines) as a Webmaster and Unix Systems Administrator. I was also the Webmaster at the Salt Lake Community College. . (Check out my resume.)
I just got myself a new phone that replaces my Palm Centro. It is a Samsung Vibrant, the T-Mobile version of the Galaxy S. It is an android phone, and I am starting to play with it. FUN!. Also, for Father's Day, my kids got me a Barnes & Nobel Nook, ebook reader. It too is an Android machine, plus lets me read my ebooks.
My wife and I had our 2nd aniversary recently. (Man, I love that woman!)
I have a new grandaughter. Her name is Audriana. She Was born on the 14th of April. She is very cute! You can see a photo and a bit more info at this link to my genealogy site.
I have my GenWeb server up and running once more, and have been updating it. I have added some new functionality, improved much of what it already did, and made the code available to others as well. Check it out!
Candy and I bought a really nice Honda Goldwing. It was pretty late in the season and we only got a few shorter rides before the weather got cold, but we are looking forward to spring and lots of riding. (I'm riding it to work every day now, weather permitting!)
In July (2008) I married a wonderful woman named Candy. We went on a Baltic Cruise for our honeymoon. We visited St. Petersburg, Russia, Berlin Germany, Finland, The Netherlands, England, and many more wonderful places. Shortly after getting back, my son Joel also got married. Now my two oldest daughters are both planning weddings. Wow, what a summer!
I have long enjoyed crafting an occasional poem. Due to the encouragement of a friend, I have placed several of my poems on the web. If you would like to read some, stop by my Poetry Page. I hope to add to this collection until I have all of my poetry online here.
